All-on-X Implants | Naperville & Channahon

For patients missing all or most of their teeth, we offer All-On-X dental implants. This leading-edge option for replacing teeth restores missing teeth with a full arch of replacement teeth utilizing a less invasive approach than individual implants.

All-On-X implants use between four and six dental implants to support a full-arch dental prosthetic, minimizing surgery while offering comfortable, functional results.

Benefits of All-On-X Dental Implants

All-On-X implants are a permanent solution for missing or extracted teeth that last decades. The implants last a lifetime, fusing with the jawbone to provide stable support for restorations. Benefits of All-On-X implants include:

  • Minimal surgery compared to individual implants.
  • Less post-operative discomfort
  • Less need for bone grafts
  • More comfortable and convenient than dentures
  • Natural look and feel
  • Restores your ability to eat the foods you enjoy
  • Temporary prosthetics give you functional teeth on the day of surgery
  • Preservation of facial structure (unlike dentures)
  • Preservation of jawbone (unlike dentures)

The All-On-X Procedure

Consultation & Treatment Plan

At your initial consultations, we evaluate your medical history, perform an oral exam, and take X-rays and digital images. If All-On-X is right for you, we devise a customized treatment plan to determine the best placement of between four and six implants in the jaw.

Dental Implant Placement

Our surgeons surgically place the implants in the jawbone. All-On-X implants are placed in each location at the optimal angle to take advantage of jawbone density and provide stability without bone grafts. Before you leave our office, temporary restorations are attached to give you fully functional teeth while waiting for the implants to fuse with the jawbone.

The All-On-X implants gradually fuse with the surrounding bone, preserving the jawbone and providing strong, permanent support for replacement teeth. For most patients, this takes 3-6 months.

Permanent Restoration

While the implants are healing, the permanent restoration is designed and crafted. Your replacement teeth are permanently attached when the implants are stable, and you have recovered sufficiently from the placement surgery.

How are All-On-X Dental Implants Better Than Dentures?

Although dentures are an option for replacing missing teeth, they have drawbacks. Dentures tend to slip, shift, and limit your ability to eat certain foods. They often irritate delicate gum tissue and can make speaking difficult.

All-On-X implants are fixed in position, so they cannot slip or click. Eating with dental implants is no different than eating with natural teeth. Nothing can get caught under the arch of new teeth, and you can speak clearly without worrying about lisping or dealing with loose dentures.

Am I a Candidate for All-On-X Implants?

Anyone with missing teeth who is interested in full arch implants with less surgery may be a candidate for All-On-X implants if they are in good overall health. If you have gum disease, it must be treated before implant surgery.

Some people may not be candidates for All-On-X implants. Bleeding disorders, uncontrolled diabetes, certain cancers, and autoimmune diseases may rule out certain individuals.

If you are interested in restoring your missing teeth with All-On-X dental implants, an initial consultation with Dr. Almandalawi or Dr. Karakourtis is the first step.
